The table of roast turkey, potatoes, cranberry sauce and pumpkin pie is the enjoyment that American people can experience only once in a year. The greatest dinner that gathers the whole family and friends together is the sign of such a marvelous holiday as Thanksgiving Day.
Since 1863 the tradition to celebrate Thanksgiving in America spread very intensely. The favorite holiday for the smallest to the oldest citizens is the reminder to give their thanks and appreciation for everything they have in their lives. It is also one more reason to reunite with the people who may be some distance away during the year and spend “family-unit” time together.
As well as adults, students in Allen Community College don’t miss the opportunity to visit their families and celebrate Thanksgiving Day. They have about five days, beginning Wednesday, to head to different destinations across the United States to enjoy the traditional dinner with their dearest.
Sharing some of their own plans, students confess to being enthusiastic to spend the days off relaxing and enjoying the traditional quest. Almost all of them have prepared small presents and surprises for the occasion that can make Thanksgiving Day one of the unforgettable holidays.
This is also one more chance for international students of Allen County to delve into American customs and traditions. American residents have a great chance to introduce the holiday’s delights to foreigners, enriching their cultural worldview.
There is less than a week left until the celebration, The Allen Flame Newspaper staff wishes all students and faculty to enjoy that glorious Thanksgiving holiday.
