As college students, we all have our own worries. Student debt is one thing we often worry about and will continue to worry about for most of our lives. However, there is an alternative solution to paying off your debt.
In 2022, the Biden-Harris Administration announced its student loan forgiveness program. This program has forgiven billions of dollars in student loans. This is targeted towards low and middle-income families as well as minorities struggling with debt.
There are many factors that decide if you are eligible for student loan forgiveness. If your income is below $125,000 for individuals and $250,000 for married couples or households then you qualify for student loan forgiveness. If you received a Pell Grant and fell into the set income requirements, you could receive up to $20,000 in debt relief. Also, if you didn’t receive a Pell Grant and fell into the set income requirements, you could receive up to $10,000 in student loan forgiveness.
So, if you’re suffering from student loans and debt, consider this program.
