Graduation Around the Corner
May 1, 2018
Sophomores, it’s that time of the year. Soon it will be graduation; a bittersweet moment of the year, and the time of the year when students look back on the memories that were made along the way. Stories from staying in Horton Hall, getting up for your 8 a.m. classes, getting dinner in the caf’ and going to sporting events are just a few of the moments you’ll never forget.
Graduation is Saturday, May 5, in the Allen Community College gymnasium at 10:30 a.m. The graduation ceremony is open to the public; however, seating is will be limited so get there early to get good seats.
Students who are graduating will meet in the fish pound at 9:45 a.m. Then at 9:50 a.m. the graduates will be separated by degrees and each student will be given an index card with his or her name printed on it. Remember, there is no place to check personal items, so leave all valuables at home, or with a trusted member of the audience.
If the graduate met all of the requirements for his or her degree and is cleared of all financial delinquencies, diplomas will be mailed by the end of June. Graduates should make sure the Registrar’s Office has a correct mailing address.
In order to obtain official copies of transcripts, all obligations to Allen Community College, such as financial, library, bookstore, and students loan exit interview, must be cleared and all college keys must be returned. Transcript requests can be in writing or made through the Allen website with a credit card charge of $5.00.
