Dr. Gregory Turner, music instructor at Fort Scott Community College, conducts the Scarlett Crossroads choir on Friday, Oct. 4, in the Allen Theater. About 40 high school students from four area schools — Iola, Altoona-Midway, St. Paul, and Uniontown — practiced during the day for auditions to the Kansas Music Educators Association honor choir. They were joined in the public concert by members of the Allen Community College Concert Choir. Accompanying the group is Ted Clous, Allen music instructor who coordinated the event.
