Ke’Voughn Manning
Some students do their time at Allen Community College and move on as quickly as possible, never looking back to this step of their academic and career journey. Ke’Voughn Manning won’t be one of those alumni. His experience here has been enjoyable and his relationships – with schoolmates, coaches, faculty and staff – meaningful enough that even though he will graduate in December, he plans to return in May 2018, from wherever his path might take him, to participate in the formal graduation ceremony. Manning, a sophomore from southern Florida majoring in communications, was recruited to Allen in 2015 as a track and field standout at Booker T. Washington High School in Pensacola. He runs the 60-, 100-, 200- and 400-meter dashes and is integral in 4X100-meter and 4X400-meter relay teams. Manning has qualified for both indoor and outdoor national championships both years he has competed for Allen, and his 4X400-meter relay team was seventh nationwide in the 2017 Indoor Championship, all while he has maintained a strong grade point average. Manning hopes to earn a track and field scholarship to a Division I school and continue his education in communications.
