The Kansas Entrepreneurship Challenge (KEC) will be held on April 20th Live & in-person on K-State’s campus! The KEC is a contest that was created to promote entrepreneurship and small business development in Kansas. The competition is for student-created, managed, and owned ventures.

Entrepreneurship challenges give young creative minds an opportunity to share their business ideas in a structured presentation. These competitions also give participants the chance to acquire entrepreneurial skills and grow their innovative ideas.

A great example of an entrepreneur presentation is the popular show Shark Tank that came about in 2009. That particular entrepreneurship challenge has helped start many businesses that people may be familiar with such as Tipsy Elves, Bommbas, and Squatty Potty.

To qualify for the Kansas Entrepreneurship Challenge, students must be enrolled in at least 9 credit hours at a Community or Technical College to compete in this division. This ensures that college students are getting the opportunity to be heard.

Deadlines to register for the challenge are March 20th for Community/technical college submissions. Finalists will be announced on March 27th. For more details about the challenge, go to cba.ksu.edu/kec  Entries can be submitted at: https://goventuredash.com/competitions/338
