College students don’t always have time to keep their rooms clean and organized 24/7 with their busy schedules. That’s why it is important to be aware of small but effective ways that will help students make the most of their college years.

With these simple dorm room hacks, students can save space and time by getting organized.

An easy way to declutter that bunched up pile of computer, television, stereo and other wires behind the bed is by using cable ties to hold an extension cord against the frame of the bed.

Another way to keep phone/tablet/laptop wires from tangling together is by using binder clips.

Lofting a bed as high as it goes, or purchasing bed risers, gives more storage room under the bed to keep desks, laundry, a mini fridge, or other endless possibilities. Adding budget-friendly command hooks to doors and walls work for décor, keys, bags, pots and pans, towels, or just about anything one can think of.

One way to save closet space is by doubling up coat hangers using soda can tabs to hang them on top of one another.

“I found this hack on Pinterest and it actually saves me so much room in my small closet and keeps me as organized as possible,” sophomore Emisela Martines said.
