Aggie Day a Success

An estimated 600 students from nearly 40 area high schools participated Thursday, April 3, in Allen Community College's annual Ag Career Event Day. They competed in judging of livestock at the fairgrounds in Iola, meats at a locker plant in Yates Center, and entomology, food science, dairy, public speaking, agronomy, agriculture business management and other events on the Allen campus. Above, students examine plants in the floriculture event. Pictured, from left, are Natile Nelson, Arron McCouch, Kara Wilson, Taylar Bradfield, Hannah Baker, and David Galaspie. Phil Reilly, Allen ag instructor, said this year's Aggie Day was the largest ever hosted by the college.
